CPR
How long is this course valid?
Perform CPR is valid for 12 months.
Will I get a certificate?
Upon demonstrating competency, you will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment. Usually, if you attend a course on EHSG premises, you will receive your Statement of Attainment upon completion. If you attend a course on a weekend, your Statement of Attainment will usually be processed the next working day and you will receive an email to advise when it is ready for collection. If you attend a course on your worksite, your Statement of Attainment will usually be posted directly to your employer, along with those of the other students who attended the same course. Sometimes there are exceptions though, and your trainer will advise you during your course.
What do I need to bring?
You may like to bring a notepad and pen to take some notes. You may wish to bring a light jacket as it can get cool in the training room.
What is the address?
EHSG is located at Shop 2, Spencer House, 120 Hanson Road Gladstone. Spencer House is a large green building, located on the right hand side when travelling north along Hanson Road.
Where should I park?
Parking is limited in the Spencer House car park; however there is ample on-street parking available. Please be considerate of our neighbours and do not park in car parks which are marked for use by customers visiting neighbouring businesses.
What about lunch?
Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits are provided during all courses. Bottled water, soft drinks and chips are available for purchase. As CPR is only a half-day course, lunch is not provided; however we provide a fridge and a microwave should you wish to bring your own snacks.
What should I wear?
We encourage comfortable clothes in which you can easily move. To ensure comfort during the practical CPR component, we advise against wearing skirts, dresses and low cut tops. You do not need to wear your work uniform unless this is a requirement of your workplace.
Do I need to bring a copy of my previous certificate?
No.
Can I get a receipt for tax purposes?
This is generally provided upon payment. If you require an additional copy of your receipt, don’t hesitate to contact our Administration team.
I have some special needs; can I still attend this course?
Our premises is wheelchair accessible. EHSG will do everything possible to cater for your individual needs. Our trainers are highly experienced at modifying training to best suit learners. Please advise us of your requirements when booking so we can ensure training meets your needs.
How old do you have to be to complete this course?
We do not have an age limit for this course as every participant is different. Parents are the best judges of whether or not their child is ready to attend training. We usually find that by high school, adolescents are ready to attend training and have the ability to remain focused for the session. We feel that even very small children can learn the life-saving skills of CPR, but may not yet be ready to tackle the assessment; if this is the case, we can arrange for your child to attend the course but not complete any assessment. We recommend that you attend the course with your teenager to assist them to feel comfortable.
I’ve lost my certificate.
We can arrange a certificate reprint for a fee – please contact EHSG as you will need to complete a form. We can also issue you with an Interim Statement for free – this document states that you have been assessed as competent in your course but have misplaced your certificate.
Who will my trainer be?
Your trainer will be one of our team of trainers; all of whom hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, as well as current first aid and safety competencies. Our trainers have additional skills – paramedics, registered nurses, registered teachers and volunteer ambulance officers are just some of the other roles our trainers fill.
